Time Change sets off SystemUIServer Bug, and maxes CPU
Fall Back to a wild Halloween-night Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6 Bug! Max your CPU for a full hour in the middle of the night.

OS X Snow Leopard “DST Bug” maxes CPU for 1 hour.
You might have been wondering what was going on in the middle of the night last night if you were using your Mac OS X Snow Leopard-equipped computer when the daylight savings time change hit your local timezone. It was a new OS glitch that affected users of Snow Leopard 10.6.
Most of you were sleeping when this bug hit, most likely your computer running OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.x was sleeping also. But if not, you might have received a Halloween-night spook from your computer! Spinning fans, unfamiliar processes gobbling up your computer’s CPU like so much Halloween candy, all in the middle of the night. I have heard one unconfirmed report that this bug woke a sleeping mac, and worked its Halloween fright!
Seems that the “SystemUIserver” process maxed the CPU for a full hour exactly when the time change hit—to the second. This bug was set off by the daylight savings time change in the United States. I cannot say if any other countries suffered this bug.
There is currently an active discussion at MacRumors.com and one at Apple’s own Support Page addressing this “Time Change Bug” that sets off the systemUIserver process.
Quite a wild system bug for users of the new Mac OS—Snow Leopard.
Apple, you have one year to fix this bug!

nicely-laid Easter Egg, Apple.
An Easter Egg on Halloween, how fracking funny.

I wonder if the major media will give heavy coverage to this bug, and it will be a reason to plunge the over-valued Apple stock?
