Plan» In this phase needs can be discussed, solutions suggested, and quotes/estimates can be generated. A Website—how many pages, need hosting? iPhone App—just the icon, or complete interface? Printed Poster—what quantity, 4/C process or spot color? This stage can be as quick as a couple of emails. For websites over 5 pages, or other complex projects, this stage can be a complete, analysis and information architecture process with much back and forth communication including wireframes, and/or prototypes.

Design» This is the actual look and feel. Using the knowledge gained from the planning stage, a conceptual visual design that best suits the needs of the project will be created. Depending on the type of design, any of the following tools will be used: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, or Acrobat Pro.

Build» For website design this stage consists of transforming a visual Photoshop design into a functional, cross-platform tested, front-end using technologies like .HTML, CSS3 and JavaScript. I focus on standards-based development for modern web browsers.
